Nice to meet you!

My name's Niamh. I'm an EFL teacher currently living in a city called Loja in Ecuador with my partner, Dylan.

I've been an English teacher for almost four years now, teaching both kids and adults in classrooms and online. This blog serves as a personal repository for English language resources and lesson plans I have generated at the behest of students, no matter how weird. From Westlife to Wembley Stadium, George Michael to Gillette, I believe that under the remit of TEFL there truly is no topic too specific to cover.

From September - December 2020, Dylan and I lived in a small town in the northern Czech Republic called Vrchlabí. There we took part in a municipality-led project that integrated English teaching with other subjects across the curriculum, such as art, physical education, cooking, and music. You'll find some of the resources we produced for this under the various subject tabs.

Starting mid-February 2021, we are teaching at a language school in Ecuador. We'll primarily be helping with a B2 level class so a lot of our focus will be around the Cambridge First for Schools curriculum. I'll keep posting any materials I make that might be of use to a wider audience.

From Ipswich, UK...

...to the Krkonoše mountains, Czechia...

...to Ecuador!

Koláče are Czech pastries that we greatly enjoyed throughout our time there. If you check on the cooking tab you'll come across a recipe of sorts.
